The Business Development Representative will support the growth of AXP House by identifying new revenue opportunities, initiating outreach, and helping convert leads into long-term clients or collaborators. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys networking, cold outreach, and bringing new business into a creative, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Outreach

    • Identify potential clients, collaborators, and sponsors, including small businesses, student groups, professionals, and brands.

    • Initiate outbound communication via email, social media, and in-person visits to introduce AXP House’s offerings.

    • Set up discovery meetings and site tours for potential partners or clients.

  • Sales & Promotion

    • Promote AXP House’s rental space, event packages, partnership opportunities, and membership offerings.

    • Deliver clear, engaging pitches that align with the brand’s voice and values.

    • Work with the internal team to ensure a smooth handoff from prospect to booking/client stage.

  • Market Research & Relationship Building

    • Stay informed about local businesses, trends, and community initiatives to identify fresh opportunities.

    • Attend local events, markets, or business meetups to expand AXP House’s network.

    • Help build a pipeline of future collaborators, sponsors, or clients.

  • Tracking & Reporting

    • Keep detailed notes of outreach activity, responses, and progress toward monthly targets.

    • Share feedback and insights with the internal team to refine sales strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales, outreach, customer service, or business development is an asset.

  • Strong communication and networking skills, both online and in person.

  • Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to follow up consistently.

  • Comfortable promoting creative spaces and social brands.

  • Knowledge of Toronto’s local culture, small business landscape, or university ecosystem is a plus..
